Tahoe 2018

  We took off last thursday to Tahoe.  We knew snow was in the forecast for our drive, but until we got to it did we realize that there was a lot of SNOW and it wasn't letting up.  The drive was treacherous, but uneventful, so that is good news.

 The kids have been asking about this weekend for weeks now.  They love sledding and snowball fights and all things snow.  I love it too, but I am so thankful we get to choose when we visit and when we leave.  Driving in it, living in it, is just not for me.

  Last year we were in South Lake Tahoe, this year we were in Tahoe City which is on the north end.  The mountains are majestic, the lake along with it reminds me of home.  We are so lucky to be able to getaway.  I just pulled all of the pics from my phone and dumped them here, enjoy!

Good morning!  Fun to be able to see it in the light!  Look how much new snow there is!

 Off to the sledding park.  An extra kid in tow, because her family's car had a flat tire.  Tire problems would be a theme of the weekend.  We got new tires the day before we left and we were the only family that escaped the tire trouble.

 Both Joel and Calvin were quite the thrill junkies.  Something about their weight and this hill made them go the fastest.  So fun to watch them loving it!

   Ava even went down on her own.  She loved the thrill too!

Saturday we spent most of the day at the cabin.  There was plenty to do!  Hot tub, sledding on the stairs, snowball fights and snowman building.

Saturday afternoon I made the kids get away from the house and took them down to the lake.  How could we not visit the lake?!

Snow on the beach still boggles my mind!!

  Love adventuring with my family.  Mostly!  Not sleeping well, waking up early, going to bed late, and off the normal eating routine, does not always make vacationing a piece of cake.  We all had our moments for sure.  But this is what memories are made of!  Thankful we have these opportunities...and that I can take a long nap the next day!
