Gung Gung
I said good-bye to my Gung Gung last week. He was a couple months short of 93. We all travelled up to Portland last week during our mid-winter break to spend time with family and celebrate his life. He served in the Army during WWII and so the honor guard was at the cemetery to honor him. I did not take this picture, but I have lots of pictures to share about our trip at another time.
Cards from the kids and other various items from the family (pictures, cameras, notes) were buried with him. I wrote him a note with a hand carved camera on the front. He was a photographer and has SO many pictures all organized and catalogued dating back to the beginning of his photo journey.
At the memorial reception we had these cards for people to write memories on. I carved both images and was very happy with how they turned out.
I had a lot of time with him and I am very, very grateful.
I love you, Gung Gung.
