Cushion forts
Earlier this week I had the most distinct privilege of pushing off errands another day and getting to stay home all day. What joy. And I am so far from being sarcastic. The boys built and rebuilt legos, Ava and I read Llama Llama books, I mopped the floor and even took a quick nap. We eventually built a side-by-side fort out of couch cushions and had some great laughs. This is what staying home is all about people.
It was close to nap time and the sucking began...
Get out while you still can!! :)
Sometimes I feel like I don't do my stay-at-home mom thing very well. Like, I'm always doing an errand or picking someone up or doing chores or endless dishes and these poor kids are just along for the ride. Mike sent me this article today from Jen Hatmaker who we both absolutely LOVE and I felt way better after she talked about making forts with cushions which we just so happened to do this week. She is so great about bringing you back down to reality and getting your head out of these false expectations/online realities that we think we need to live in.
I've been reading her blog for some time, but now I see that she is a Today Show contributor. I remember her blog from when she went on the Today Show a couple of years ago after one of her blog posts went viral and now she contributes, that's awesome. I also read her books and I soak up her wisdom like a dry sponge. She speaks truth and she is so funny! If you don't know her, you should get to know her asap.
Have a wonderful weekend, friends!
