Hello Summer!
Hello my favorite people who are so loyal! My summer has been a little insane and I don't even mean the busyness. I mean my mind. Like I lost my sanity. Every day. The transition to being home with 4 children all day long has taken roughly 2 weeks. I actually forgot why summer was so great. Why don't we just do year round school? I am kidding. I do love being home with the kids, but we all needed to figure out how this was going to work well.
Let me just catch you up to speed on some of the things we've been up to the past 3 weeks.
Swim team, obvies. Every morning from 8:20-9:45 and then swim lessons at 10. And then swim meets on saturday mornings, bright and EARLY!
Our two favorite college students graduated from Santa Clara in June (one of them not pictured). So happy for them!! One of them is moving away (waaahhhh!) and the other got a job in Mountain View! They literally moved down to college a few weeks before we moved down and they were who we hung out with before we had friends! As much as they think we took care of them, they helped us transition too!!
Please look at this post from when we first visited Rani her freshman year. Look at how little my kids were!!
Still dreaming about our Father's Day goods.
Take a picture of me, Mama!
Take another picture!
Oh, Ava.
She couldn't handle the tangles any longer....
She tells us all of the time how much she loves it and I will tell you how much I love the peaceful hair brushing times.
A fort a day keeps the craziness at bay. Or something like that. They are either all mad at each other because of the fort or all happy playing together in the fort. One or the other.
This particular time they were playing family and Calvin was the dad going off to war for 2 weeks. They crack me up!
Ava can officially go off the board now by herself. No one has to be in the water, but she HAS to tell us she is going before she does so we can watch. She might not do swim lessons super well (don't even get me started), but she sure can swim!
Our neighbors moved away and I want to cry! On moving day I watched her kiddos for most of the day. We shared a fence and they were the best neighbors EVER. Need an egg for a recipe, ask Kelly. Need someone to watch your kids last minute, ask Kelly. Need someone to pick up from school because Ava JUST fell asleep, ask Kelly. They didn't move far, but we don't share a fence and it is SO sad!
6 am and these two together. So cute, but also so not. Go back to sleep!!
I am trying my best to make the most of this time, but there are days when it is just SO hard. And then other days I am reminded why I love summer and them being all at home with me. Mom Life 101.
Have a great 4th!
