Blue Angels
The thing is, Mike is a DIE-HARD Blue Angels fan since we grew up with them flying over us every year at Seafair. The week Mike chose to get his tonsils taken out was the week they came in town so he could watch them even if he was in horrible pain. All future summer trips up to Seattle will include the first week in August so we can see them, unless someone else is renewing their vows and then we can accommodate their schedule. ;) Then there was this time at an air show in Hillsboro, OR that my uncle took Mike to and he went MIA for an hour while he was randomly invited into the gates (probably because he looked like a little schoolboy watching them) to watch the pilots get in the planes. He will never live that one down... :) Needless to say, Mike LOVES the Blue Angels and it has rubbed off not he kids just a bit.
Not to mention, they were high on our minds because they flew over our house for the Super Bowl a few days before we left for our Disney trip. Mike and the kids had seen them a few days before, but we weren't sure if we were going to see them on sunday.
We had some friends over and we all ran outside after the national anthem and waited a couple of minutes and they never came. Everyone went inside, except Mike (which we didn't realize), to resume our activities. When a couple of minutes later we hear Mike screaming "they're here, they're here!" and we all ran outside to watch them circle around. All 7 kids were jumping up and down and Mike was so speechless he looked like he was going to cry. That was our Super Bowl highlight for sure!
Until next time!!
Happy monday!!
