Whiffle balls

Mike has been taking the kids to the school when he gets home from work to teach them some baseball skills.  I joined along a couple of times to see what this fun was all about.

He was using old tennis balls, scavenged by the boys from the parking lot and pool grounds at our club.  Now, he's also using a large bucket of whiffle balls given to us by his boss whose kids are grown.

One day we will be able to count balls and strikes or hits and runs, but for now we are thankful for a daddy who just keeps on pitching.  I did some pitching of my own and it is actually quite therapeutic!    They are getting better for sure, but most of all the kids love being outside and getting to play with their dad!

Upset I told her not to take off her socks and shoes.

Which she proceeded to do finish doing anyway.  This girl.

I feel like I have been doing my own sort of striking out lately.  Hannah got strep throat.  AGAIN!!  I have been taking my naps the past couple of days.  Again!  (I think she gave me the strep which caused me extreme exhaustion last week and I gave it right back to her.)  I ordered my craft organization furniture and then it got lost in transit.  I showed up to the pharmacy to pick up the remainder of Hannah's prescription and it wasn't there.  I took the kids to the library today and it wasn't open yet (who opens at noon?).  And then there's the ants.  I mostly took care of the ones in the house, now they're in my garage.  #becausecrumbs Ugh!  I hate wasting my time more than anything and it all comes back to expectations.  What I think I should be doing with my time instead of what I am.  When it comes down to it, what I really should be doing with my time is taking care of my kids.  And if that means hitting dead ends at what seems every turn, then it is what it is.  And I will have to work on being fine with that. [insert teeth gritting]  On another note, thank goodness it is friday!!!!

Have a great weekend!

  1. Glad to hear my 2-3 year old isn't the only one who does what he wants. ;)
