Ava's Moana Party
Another reason I have not been back on the blog is that I was prepping for a big Moana celebration this past saturday. And I don't know how to hold back the punches when it comes to birthday parties. Ava turned 4 last week!
She is only slightly obsessed with Moana.
She insisted on ice cream cones and no cake and that left me without something to bake. I was happy about it, but I happened to have some time on saturday and so I made these chocolate chip coconut cookies. Instead of oatmeal in our regular gut bombs, I subbed in unsweetened shredded coconut. YUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Blank kakamora faces for each kid to personalize with felt. That brown fabric is THE softest fabric I have ever felt, btw. Yes, I sewed all 20 something of them...yes, I am crazy.
Even more crazy to also sew 20 blank felt Maui hooks lined with cardboard for kids to decorate with puff paint.
I made her take one picture with her Moana crown and then she could take it off and she delivered! Gorgeous girl!
Ava's finished kakamora.
Facetiming with her friend who now lives in Seattle. They had to be there to sing happy birthday to her! So sweet!!
I forgot to hide these because by the time the party started I was having too much fun with my own friends. But would have been so awesome for the kids to find their own glow-in-dark heart of te fiti. Who knew you could find the perfect green glowing rocks!!
Love my baby, who is hardly a baby! She had a wonderful time and I think she thinks she is actually 4 now. Or maybe almost 4. Or she's gonna turn 4 in a few minutes. She cracks me up. Then I tell her, great, I want you to stay 3. To which she replies, "No, Mom, I already turned 4!!" Haha.
Happy monday!
