Road trip vacation Part 1 | Seattle

We are catching up well.  We left on our great drive the morning of 7/31, exactly one month ago.  We stopped one night in Portland, and then this time we drove straight up to Seattle for a week.

All of the PNW had a really hot forecast.  I mean record hot.  We knew we would be spending lots of time in the water and did just fine, despite not always having AC.

When it was time to leave Seattle, we were not ready.  I would have liked to spend two more days at my dad's house, but we were on a time schedule that had no wiggle room unless we wanted to get home the day before school started.  And I didn't want to do that!  Enjoy our week.

One of our stops on the way up.  8:00 in the morning and the shenanigans had long begun.

Cooling off in Grammy's little pool and hose.

Calvin came out a little ways with me to swim.  The kids are getting more and more comfortable swimming in open water.  He didn't love the milfoil, but who does?

BBQ at my sister's

Look at her tomatoes!!!!!!!  Zoo doo.

We took the ferry to Bainbridge so we could see Mike's brothers' new home in Poulsbo.

The smoke rolled down to us on tuesday afternoon and never left.  The hazy sky was kind of weird, but I do believe cut down some on the heat.

I thought she was looking so cute!

Then I realized she was in trouble.  But still cute.

Met our friends for Sluy's.  When in Poulsbo...

More lake.  Another year to watch the Blue Angels!

Look who also came to watch!

Saying bye to each other.  :(

The second part of the week we spent at my dad's house.  The kids did a lot of skateboarding, Calvin especially.  He even got to take the little one home!

Took a ride around Seward, stopped here to let Ellie get a drink.

More lake time!!  The lake was SO nice!  I could have swam in it for hours, it was so warm.

She got really good at SUPing.

It was also so nice to not have to worry about them endlessly around the water.  They are all confident swimmers and even though the lake makes them nervous, they were all jumping off the dock.

My dad took them out to go off a high dive and low dive a couple of docks down.

The last morning there, my dad and I went for a swim before we all left for Portland.  My sister and family stayed the night before.  Mike and Randy went to CrossFit that morning, so we all left her with the kids in the morning.  Haha!

Happy thursday!
