First day of school 2017-18

  Jumping from July 4th to the first day of school on the blog explains our summer perfectly.  I have plenty I want to share, but have to pour through it all.  The good news is that I think I might have some time to do that.  Now that the kids are in school...

  Which brings us to, the first day!!  Yes, we start early.  The first day was August 14th.  I've gotten used to it and frankly, I was ready for it this year.  Hannah is in 4th, Calvin in 2nd, and Joel is in kindergarten.  It's gonna be a good year!!

  I'm glad I got that first pic, but it was only a snap or so later that the true emotions came out!  I will be honest and say that ending vacation the friday before school starts is an abrupt transition.  And some of us wanted a little more time to play at home, but by the end of the week we were doing really good!  

  Doing a tour of the school and he kept giving me some looks.  Haha.  He did pretty well this, but was so tired by the end of the week we might have had to push him through the door and shut it really fast.  He misses his daily summer nap!

They had so much ice cream this week, but can't break tradition!

  My favorite thing from them starting school this week is them telling me how they all play together when they can!

  We have one more first day of school tomorrow and then Mama will get some alone time during the day for the first time in almost 10 years.  That's that precious time I will spend cramming so much into every minute that I can.  Actually, I don't know what I'll be doing because it's only an hour here and two hours there, but I will take what I can get!
