Halloween recap

Well, good news, I got a picture of all 4 of them and Calvin had enough energy to go to a few houses.  If you look closely at the picture, you can see Joel was happy as ever, Ava had to be held back (she was on the move!), Hannah was not super excited, and Calvin was in a daze.  Very true to the current emotional state of the children at that moment.

This is very realistic as well.  :)

I wanted to show a bit more detail of the costumes I made:
The bee I made for Hannah her first Halloween.  She is so cute walking all over the place.  She truly is a busy bee.

I was so proud of myself scrounging around my fabric scraps and coming up with these two costumes.  They LOVED them and that's what matters most.

I also made Hannah's vest with some scraps I found laying around.  That felt fringe was an excellent detail in my humble opinion.  :)

After the pictures, it was time to divide and conquer.  Mike took the Hannah and Joel to a friend's home in another part of town which I guess is just crawling with kids everywhere.  Calvin, Ava, and I met up with our neighbors (who we met on Halloween last year and I'm so glad we did!) and walked our neighborhood.  Calvin had about 4 houses in him and then wanted to go home.  It was perfect for Ava too, as she decided she was a big girl and walked everywhere the other kids did.

"Hey Mom, look at me!"

There she goes again.  :)
After our short trick or treating jaunt, we went home, had some chicken soup and watched The Lion King.  I was nervous we were not going to get anyone by our house, but finally the first came at 7:20 and there was a steady stream til 8:30.

Our final trick-or-treaters.  Happy as can be from a fun night out!

It is now officially Christmas music season.  Now that our weather has finally mostly changed, holiday stuff feels right too.  Something about hot weather and Christmas just don't mix for me.

Have a great Monday!
