Mother's Day 2015

Had a wonderful Mother's Day this year.  Started Saturday night, getting a fun last minute Mother's Day girls' night out with some friends.  Sunday morning started with our traditional crepes and Mike's homemade ricotta filling and berries and cards.  The crepes were delicious as usual and the cards, oh my heart.  As you know, Hannah likes to write these days.  I got a great story about how I was trying to find the potato bug colony and a poem that's sole purpose was to rhyme, because it didn't make much sense.  I also took a moment to read them some books from an author that spoke at our MOPS group this year, and could hardly get through the first one without the tears flowing.  She has a couple of great books, but this one was the tear jerker.  She is newly local to our area and after she read her books to us, the whole room rushed over to buy her books and bought her out.

Anyway, here is some other stuff we did for Mother's Day.

We dedicated our youngest 3.  Phew, now I don't have to feel guilty about not dedicating the boys any longer.  :)  Having 4 kids on stage, plus some extras, is not for the faint of heart!  Besides telling Joel to take his hands out of his pants, to one of their friends lifting up her dress to show them owies on her leg, to Ava pushing Hannah and Hannah falling down (yeaaaahhhh.) it was seamless.  Joking aside, this was a wonderful time for us to be surrounded by sweet friends who pray for us, play with us, and raise their/our children alongside of us.  We are so blessed by this community.

Then I wanted to be super ambitious and get a Mother's Day shot.  It was working for 4/5 of us.  :)

A perfect picture would have been icing on the cake.  But I don't like frosting anyway.

After naps we went on a bike ride.  There's a nice 10 mile long trail that we had yet to explore and now that we have, we will definitely be going out again soon.  So much fun!!!

We ended the night with some sushi and other Japanese food for the kids and it was perfect.  Mike was so good to me, I didn't cook a single meal or do a single dish.  That is what Mother's Day dreams are made of.  :)

Hope you had a nice day too!
