Water and dirt and more water
It's been an outside sort of day. Like, no, you don't need a snack you just finished breakfast 15 minutes ago. No, we aren't watching a cartoon, even though it is educational. Sure, I'll read that book to you (again) and then we're going OUTSIDE! You get the drift.
I initially did my wooing with water guns. They got completely soaked. The clothes came off and then it was on to the dirt.
Dirty, dirty fine dirt. The kind that Joel was breathing in and then reappeared when it was time to blow his nose.
This is the same sort of dirt that we have to grow our plants in. It's terrible! We learned a lot from last year. This dirt doesn't retain the water and/or has little nutrient value and therefore does not allow the plants to grow well. We bought compost last year, but that didn't even help some beds. This year we did a major compost boost with our own compost (remember the egg shells and random sprouting plants?) and it helped a ton!
They needed to be hosed off, but the tub kept them entertained for longer.
They were loving it and I got some great pics, but too many naked bums to show on the blog. :)
Happy friday!
