Break time

I don't know about you, but having wednesday off of the normal routine was pretty wonderful.  This morning I was pleasantly surprised it was thursday and don't feel the normal thursday drag that usually happens this time of the week.  Wednesday was like a mid-week nap that rejuvenated me for the rest of the week.

Sometimes unplanned stops in your day are also rejuvenating.  We took a detour to Starbucks today after Ava was repeating "cold" as we walked around downtown Los Altos.  That would be Ava's first official red cup.  Since red cups (the Starbucks variety) are now a thing.

A sweet lady bought them their hot chocolate because I left my wallet at the previous store.  It made my day and I think it made hers too.  She got to tell me about her "very good looking son" who married a beautiful Filipino girl whose daughters are gorgeous.  I think she felt like she was buying her grandchildren hot chocolate.  It was very sweet of her.

Now Joel knows if he cries "Cold!" I am a sucker for making them or getting them hot chocolate.

We also stopped at this park nearby that was also not on my agenda.  I had planned to take them back to the Redwood Preserve and hike around a bit.  I hardly ever take them to parks anymore.  They were just loving it.  When they're having pure fun (no fights, no whining, no complaints) it is so very rejuvenating.

This girl can hardly make it past noon these days. Of course, the mid-day nap is the most rejuvenating time of them all.  For me especially.

Happy thursday!
