Afterschool snacks

Wednesdays are one of my pick-up days and I have been sort of dreading it lately.  I typically have to wake the kids up and even though the school is a mere 3 minutes away, the parking is horrific so you gotta get there early or you park far away!  Then, I puzzle piece the carseats together to have 3 boosters fit across the last row and my children (only mine) all fall apart because the sight of your mother means you can let loose.  Like when you have to go to the bathroom really bad and the sight of the toilet makes you nearly wet yourself.  Like that.  Haha.  No, seriously, they have to be good listeners and learn and be creative and be challenged all the day long.  Then they see me and they realize they are starving, tired, hot, thirsty, somehow uncomfortable, and even more hungry.  All in that very instant.  When we are finally buckled in, got the AC going and the right music blaring, they still fight over their friend who is sandwiched in the middle about who touched me here and how they did it ON PURPOSE!  Oh my, getting this out is therapeutic.

All that to say, I think the biggest thing of all is that they are hungry.  So, on pick up days, I've been bringing snacks with me.  And it has helped, a little.

Last week, this was Hannah's after school snack.  A bagel and two eggs!!!  And for dinner she had two bowls of coconut curry after swim team.  I just had to document this.  This is insane.  If I ate that much for snack I would not be hungry for dinner, even after practice.  It just goes to show how hungry they really are.

I handed her the plate and she exclaimed, "Oh yeah baby, the juice is loose!"  LOL!  We call over-easy eggs, "juicy eggs."

The look that says, why do you keep taking pictures of me?!  I was trying to get one without the nakey baby in the background...

Who I took a picture of anyway because she is just too cute!

Happy wednesday!
