Throwback to May 2011
Totally procrastinating on some orders, but not to worry, I have plenty of time! MUCH unlike this morning, when I went into my "cave" (head under pillow to drown out noise), and I slept until 7:47. Whoops!! I got up in a fury to get the kids fed, dressed, snacks/lunches made and out the door by 8:15. We did it with no crying, yelling, or extreme frustration. I don't even know how. My kids have been rockstars since Mike has been gone. Thank the Lord for that!!
Thought I'd do a little throwback to this time 5 years ago, and remind myself what 2 and pregnant looked like.
Hannah had just broken her arm at the end of April. Fell off a balance beam and caught herself awkwardly with her arm. Broken. Not to mention we were on Bainbridge Island. I declined the ambulance ride to Children's and in doing so, the WSDOT ferry system held the ferry to Seattle for me to drive on. Crazy times.
Hannah was at the stage Ava is at now where she brought her dolls with her everywhere and they were her buddies. Ava still carries around that Minnie.
There was A LOT of park time.
A lot of cleaning up!!
A lot of snacks and eating!
A lot of play-doh.
And NO napping from this girl. I would be downstairs for naps and I'd find her out of her room making a "bus" for her friends to go to the park.
With her cast on, she couldn't suck her thumb. Her arm didn't bend up to her mouth. No thumb sucking meant no naps. This was one of the most horrible seasons of parenthood. She desperately needed a nap. By 6 every night she was a mess so we'd put her down around 6:45-7 which was nice for a long night, but then she'd wake up at like 5:45 in the morning. Not okay!! It took a week or two after the cast came off to find that thumb again and naps resumed. Oh, sweet, glorious nap time!!!!! Unfortunately, the thumb sucking habit we thought we kicked came back strong. She didn't stop until she was 7.
We met Daddy up at work for lunch on occasion. It was so nice to change it up a bit every now and then. This was when we lived in Skyway and he was in Redmond at Microsoft. His commute was long!!
We would always get the indian food, spicy chips, and grape juice. Hannah LOVED it!
It was a different time! Fun to look back.
Have a great Thursday!
Little Hannah and Calvin are too much. I just want to squeeze them.
