Stay at home, mom

There was a time that my stay-at-home gig, was truly at home.  And all I wanted to do was get out!!  This season of my stay-at-home life is never at home and all I want is to be home.

I was gifted a day at home yesterday.  I took full advantage and I loved it.  I am normally in Calvin's classroom on mondays and my friend watches Joel and Ava.  Sadly, her little baby was really sick and with no husband at home and no notice, there was no way I could be in the classroom.  Calvin was bummed, but I was so happy to get a morning with my littles.  And I could make good on my promise to Joel to take him to the bumpy bumps.  He's only been begging every single day for the past week and a half.

We had it all to ourselves and Joel was SO happy.  I had so much fun too!  I had worked out before the kids got up in the morning and didn't have time for a shower, so I was fine running up and down the hills getting all sweaty again.  I think I need to go sans shower more often so I don't mind running to the park while they bike and then playing extra hard.  The little things are so revolutionary sometimes!

I wish that chain was not blocking the face that I am given even by my 2 year old.  Sassy pants!!!!!  But the cutest one ever.

I am going to say it here, and so it will be official.  Her hair needs a little trim.  A little one.

In the afternoon, I took all the kids to the park.  We weren't going to swim team and I already knew what we were having for dinner so there was no reason to say no.  As much as I resist meal planning, this week there was no getting around it, and now I get what all the hype is about.  The little things, I tell you!  ;)

Well, we are on day 3 and things are going well.  I don't love going to bed without Mike, but I do enjoy having my evenings alone for the first few nights.  I stayed up way too late last night watching the Warriors, but I'm so glad I did.  Steph is BACKKKK!!  I also get too much fulfillment out of online shopping, but I have to have at least one guilty pleasure.  And it is so relaxing!  My desk is still a mess, but that doesn't change unless I am REALLY bored.  I have finally gone through some of my magazine queue that I have from my Zinio app.  Did you know you can get free subscriptions to a bunch of magazines from your library?  You can access them with Zinio.  I think I was paying a library fine and they mentioned something about magazine subscriptions on their site.  Cook's Illustrated is on there!  I also read the latest article on my new favorite couple from Parents magazine from my app.  I hardly ever look at the magazines, but I always have the option.  I have a bunch of other stuff on my list of to-dos, so we'll see if I actually get some of them done in the evening too.

Have a great day!
