Beach day recovery

Hello blog buddies!  I thought I would say hello quickly.  We returned from vacation on sunday and I finally took the pictures off my camera today.  I am not quite ready to pour through the pics (fortunately I didn't take nearly as many as last year!) for a vacay recap, but I still have some cuteness to offer.

We went to the beach yesterday, no surprises there.  We were there ALL day, left before 10 and got home after 5.  We have never gone for that long before, but it worked out that way and was JUST what I needed after suffering vacation let down.  Friends, laughter, sunshine, salty hair, sandy toes, happy kids, my happy place.

The fog was thick, we could see it hovering on top of the mountain as we drove past downtown Los Gatos on Hwy 17.  As we drove into it, the windshield was getting spit on from the drizzle.  I definitely had some second thoughts.  We were able to get beach front parking because there were not so many beachgoers this day.  However, as we walked out onto the sand, there was no wind.  And some of you who know the beach, the wind is the killer when it comes to enjoying the beach.  We laid our stuff out as per the usual and our friends started showing up slowly.  By 12:30-1:00 the sun had fought it's way through and there was blue sky!  The sun came out and the water was bluer than I had ever seen.  We could bare some skin and my day at the beach was made.  We usually leave around 2-2:30, but we were not ready to go at that time.  We finally made our exit around 3:30, stopped for ice cream, got stuck in some serious traffic, and were home after 5.  The kids thought it was the greatest thing ever.  I did too.  So much so that we have one more beach day to squeeze in before school starts on monday.

Desperately wanted one nice pic of this almost 3 year old.  I tried and I got a few.  I also got great captures of her 'tude.  Terrible twos wasn't so much a thing for her, but threenager IS a thing!

Sun or no sun, Calvin was in the water the entire time!

  Thank goodness for the beach!
