Golden Gate Bridge

Hello friends!  After a little more thought, I think I may have figured out what is going on/wrong with this lack of Christmas cheer.  And after just a tiny bit of analysis, I can feel it coming.  But first, one more day trip to SF to catch up on here.  A day that from the pics you might think was a beautiful fall day or even a beautiful summer day, but definitely not a warm t-shirt kind of day in December!  We have been spoiled with these blue skies.

Walked by the famous Painted Ladies, the row of 5 houses that are in the shadow.  They are ornate and beautiful, but imho you don't need to make a special stop to see them.  We were aiming more for time to play in this park, but it was completely fenced off.

Uncle Mike gathered the children around to do a hipster Insta shot to poke fun at the college girls that take these exact shots.  Ava had a hard time standing on one foot and leaning up against the wall.  Hannah nailed it!!

Our second stop was the Golden Gate bridge.  We had never been to this spot.  You can go under the bridge or walk on it or walk the trails down to Crissy Field.  It was really fun!

Hannah has read a book about Alcatraz so she was excited to see it.  We are gonna take her there at some point!

We eventually found ourselves on the bridge, but just looking at this picture with Ava's head through the rails makes my stomach drop!  She totally could have fit through there.  Mike and Hannah didn't make it too far without getting scared and wanting to turn around.  Only Calvin wanted to continue on, so I took him while Mike took the other 3.

We did a lot of walking that day.  By the end of the trip, all of the children had a turn up on one of the Mike's shoulders.

The more we go, the more familiar it seems.  One little day trip at a time to explore this fun city!
