Natural Bridges

We had been wanting to go see the Monarch butterflies hanging out on the coast before their migration inland.  I was signed up to go on a field trip earlier in December with Calvin's class and it was cancelled due to rain.  We tried to go the friday before Christmas, but Hannah was sick with strep.  We finally made it down there last thursday, but sadly they had already left.  There were a few lingering, but it was not what we had hoped.  We still had a great day trip down to the beach and oh my goodness we were spoiled with sunshine and mid-60s.  It was gorgeous!

We did an adult treat stop at Verve coffee and then took the kids to the donut shop for their treat.

The donut shop not nearly as cute as the coffee shop, but happy kids, happy parents!

Wishing he had more donut to finish like his siblings...

Apparently there are thousands upon thousands lining the trees here, but we only caught a few.  Next year!

The beach is right near the trail that leads to the butterflies.  This is the beach we went to after we went to the pumpkin patch this year.

Not paying attention to how fast the waves were coming!!  Oops!

Another great day at the beach!
