Deck the halls

I have been painfully S-L-O-W at decorating for Christmas this year.  Lots of excuses, but none very exciting.  Being in a new house means finding a new spot for everything, and that takes time.  Time that I don't have.

However, I did make sure come December 1, we had our Jesse tree out so we could do our daily Jesse tree advent readings and ornaments.  I also knew I at least had to get my self in gear and make one last stocking for our family.

I finally finished the stocking yesterday.  I like it, but don't love it.  However, it's going to do the job this year!

The other thing that made decorating hard this year is that we have no mantle.  I miss having a mantle!!  All 6 stockings are hung by Command strips and hooks.  That Christmas quilt, you guessed it, hung by Command strips too.  I don't know what I'd do without those things!

The kids solely decorated the tree this year.  I was quite impressed with their spacing!  We went with a little tree this year.  We had to have a tree, but Mike is going to be home for all of 1.5 weeks in December.  (He's leaving for a business trip to Prague on Sunday!)  We are also all going to Seattle and are not coming home until December 31.  The thought of coming home and having so much to clean-up was overwhelming me!  This little tree is beautiful for when we are home and a much easier clean up job upon return.

Have a happy weekend!

  2. Paul and I were just in Prague. Tell Mike he should definitely check out the castle compound if he can sneak away from work. Hang in there girl while he's gone.
