Wedding

The Saturday before Christmas, Hannah and Calvin were in a wedding.  The guy who got married is one of Mike's oldest friends from childhood.  We were very excited to be able to be there and have the kids participate.  The two who wed have quite the stories of redemption.  We all do, but these happened to be more extreme than most and God bringing them to where they are today is no less than a miracle.  It was a privilege to be a part of their day and rejoice with them.

Here is another pic of this handsome little guy.  He took a pause from texting (on a calculator :) ) to allow Mike to take a picture.  This was his first wedding and he was a pro.  I waited in the back with them and they walked down the aisle toward Mike.

They had front row seats.  Meanwhile, I was busy holding Ava and keeping Joel quiet in the back.  I had to open up some wedding favors sooner than they probably planned for, but it kept Joel's mouth a quiet busy.  I am sure I was quite the sight.  Holding an infant in my arms and leading a 2 year old around while directing Hannah and Calvin where to walk down the aisle; all while wearing a fancy gown and high heels.  And I mean fancy and high.

Later, I got smart and wore Ava in the ergo.  Probably not an accessory the designer had in mind when making the dress.  However, she is the most priceless and adorable accessory!  That's my sister-in-law with us.

Not sure why Joel has this face, but I thought it was cute.  Maybe it was because it was an hour past his naptime, maybe it was because we have been running them around town.  Every day has been full and it is running us all ragged.  It has all been fun, but I am excited to get home so I have space to decompress.  Also, keeping track of all of their stuff and trying to keep it somewhat organized has been a chore.  Then, Christmas happens and the amount of stuff grows exponentially.  You can only imagine.  We leave early tomorrow morning and once again it is bittersweet.  However, I am looking forward to getting us back to our smooth running machine and once we get settled I will also share more of our time in the Northwest.

Have a great Monday!
