Road trip vacation Part 2 | Portland
The second chunk of our vacation was in Portland. We spent 3 nights there besides the one on the way up. This is the 2nd and final post of our trip. I am taking a lot less pictures these days ANDDDDD I did not have my phone. Have I mentioned that I dropped my phone in the pool at the kids' champs meet?!?! No, I have not, I know I haven't. I dropped my phone in the pool. We turned it off. We put it in rice. It did not turn back on. We left for Portland two days later. I did not have a phone for two weeks. Everyone, Mike especially, thought it was so funny when I'd pull out my iPad or I'd ask for the wifi password, or I'd say, text Mike or my sister I'm leaving wifi. Or the best yet, when I'd pull it out to take a picture! Two weeks. I'm still dealing with this whole fiasco (I had to call Verizon again today) and it's been over a month. I have a pretty new rose gold phone and cute case, but the moral of this story is, don't drop your phone in the pool!
Enjoy our time in Portland.
All of Portland spoils them with attention, sugar, and presents!
Boat ride on the Willamette!
Trying to chase the geese away!
Hannah and Calvin had the BEST time on the inner tube!
Joel loved riding with Jonathan and mostly had a good time!
Joel went from smiling to this face and back to smiling the entire ride. LOL!!
Too much fun makes a girl tired!
Skateboarding while Auntie and Mama shop!
Salmon street fountain! My grandpa used to take my sister and I here.
After the water fountain we took the kids out to lunch at Marukin, a ramen place that does not do take out (fyi), which is right next to Nong's Khao Man Gai which we did take out for because we had to try!
Calvin BAWLED the night before we left and it got Joel tearing up too. He hates saying good-bye, especially after being treated so well. My heart hurts thinking about the distance between my little family and my big family. I know exactly how he feels.
Sorry we missed you in pdx. Lifeproof case - bulky but the only safe pool option.
