Ava's quilt
I saw this fabric collection and fell in love. I mean mermaids, so whimsical and dreamy. And whales too, get out of town! :) I don't know how you shop, but I do a lot of online shopping. I fill the cart up, let it sit for a few days, and then decide if I should buy it or not. Well, we found out we were having a girl, and this fabric went on double sale (I'm all about the double sales!). I bought it right away and an idea for a quilt was born. And I was going to make it! Fun, right?
I received all of the fabric, drew out a pattern, and researched quilt binding. I was in over my head. I got smart and hired someone to make it for me! :) She sure did a great job. WAAAY better than I would have done.
Look at the cute narwhal amongst the other whales. (Whales are my favorite animal if it isn't obvious already.)
I was very happy with how the quilt turned out and when she gave it to me, she also returned all of the extra fabric. There was a lot (it was on double sale people!). Some of the leftover fabric was cut into 4" strips, perfect for making cute burp cloths! My burp cloths are just cloth diapers collected from previous babies and were just gross...so I bleached them and fancied them right on up. What an easy project and a great gift idea for a baby!
Gorgeous! Can't wait to see it in person and meet sweet Ava! :)
