90th birthday party, Portland part 2
Let the picture taking begin!
The birthday party was held at a McMenamins. This one in particular is such a cool place. They bought this elementary school and turned it into a hotel with a restaurant, brewery, and soaking pool. I walked around a bit, but didn't want to be intrusive to the guests with a camera.
Looking down one of the wings.
Restaurant and bar (in the detention room!).
The party was in the gymnasium. These two were excellent greeters. :)
We arrived to do a little décor and set up...
and take pictures, of course!
Ava was adopted into some family photos.
By the time the guests arrived and it was time to eat, it was already past her bed time. She's in her car seat getting rocked to sleep while I am getting ready to partay. Hey, hey! :)
She was asleep long enough to let me eat dinner and then was up until I left at 9:45. I was fine with it as long as she was happy. She was able to enjoy the short program we had and didn't mind the loud music. She was definitely getting sleepy, but was happy to be passed around by everyone.
As you can see, we had a very fun night. I ended up going home earlier than everyone because I needed to get Ava to bed. I also took Gung Gung home because he was ready to go to home the second he was done eating dinner. It was his birthday party, but we pretty much all know that the party was for my grandma. As I was driving home, he kept apologizing for ruining my night. I kept telling him that he didn't ruin my night and that I had to go home for the baby. It was really sweet. What else is really sweet is that he is always wanting to know where PoPo is and what she's doing. His memory is failing him which is sad, he didn't know I was married, he swore he knew Mike from grade school, but he always wants his wife by his side. I just love it. Even if he didn't care to have a party, we wanted to celebrate him. 90 is such a big deal!! Happy birthday, Gung Gung!
I'll be stealing some of these pictures. :) Love that one of Ava and Auntie Lisa!
