Power outage

  We lost power Thursday evening last week.  It was the first one the kids have been aware of and so it was so exciting!  And so scary.  And SO many questions.  Dang.

 

  Regardless of how dark it was, the kids needed a bath.  When you're giving baths in the dark, you know they were in serious need.  They thought it was so fun.

 

  The power went out around 7, so it was still light out.  As the light faded, the excitement turned to fear.  The boys kept whispering, "I'm scared, Mama."  Followed by a burrage of questions.  What is going to happen?  When are the lights going to come on?  Who is going to fix it?  Why are you doing that?  etc.

 

  Daddy even read The Lion King to them in the dark.  Anything was better than the questions!  :)

 

  The power came back on at 9, at which point we had to go into some of their rooms and turn off the lights.  :)

 

  Exciting times in the Soetaert house.  Hopefully no more excitement anytime soon!
