My dad's 60th
Went up to Seattle this past weekend to help put on my dad's 60th birthday party with my sister. She pretty much did all of the hard work, invites, vision, execution. I swooped in at the last minute and helped decorate, chop some veggies, cook a bit. Party planning and hosting is not for the faint of heart. She did so much!
For example, she made this super cool thing of every Ironman my dad did. Major props to Randy too, he made it too! We did an Ironman theme because if you can't tell, my dad has done a lot of them. He is doing his 11th one this year in Canada. Going on 20 years now.
Party favors. Mold found online and we even tempered the chocolate. :) Another thing I was able to help with.
Coconut and guava cake in honor of the Ironman World Championships held in Kona, HI. Not to mention, our whole family and especially my dad loves Hawaii.
Check out this amazing bunting my sister made. Each year and location of where he did an Ironman, looking exactly like race numbers you wear in a triathlon. Pinned up with safety pins and everything.
She was upset because I moved the bowl of chips so she wouldn't keep begging for them from everyone. :)
My dad, 60 years young, with his mom who is 85, and dad who is 90.
A photobooth also happened.
Pretty much every picture taken was a good one.
Ended the night playing Heads Up!
So hard for me to say good-bye this time. It was such a short trip and leaving all of my family just seemed wrong. Fortunately, we are just a short plane ride away and my dad is coming down in a week and my sister in a month. Looking forward to it for sure.
Have a great day!
