Putting on shows
When I was little, I loved putting on shows with my sister, cousins, and friends. Anybody that would watch, we would put a performance on for. Most kids are like that, Hannah would do a song and dance for us everyday when she was 3 or 4. The shows have been put on hold until recently. Calvin got some puppets to make and he has been all about putting on a puppet show for us. They are super cute, but now I know why parents didn't always want to watch my latest show.
Calvin's puppet shows pretty much involve a cacophony of animal noises.
However, invite your friend over to do a puppet show that is a girl and that is a completely different story.
"Ladies and gentleman, welcome to the puppet show. Please do not come up and touch any of the puppets or the stage. We will come out after the show for you to ask questions about the puppets and see them if you are interested. Also, do we yell during the puppet show? (waits for crowd to answer) That's right, no. Please use a whispering voice. Turn to your neighbor and show them how you can do a whispering voice. Thank you and enjoy the show."
For real.
That would be the language development difference between boys and girls. She is only 6 days younger than him.
By the way, that is Violet. Calvin tells us that Violet is his "bess fren." Which means a lot coming from the boy who still has not played with a single person at preschool.
Violet and her brother came over yesterday again too. They created a band and guess who the lead singer was. This girl sang a whole worship song with the correct words, not made up words that sound like the lyrics. Her mom and dad also happen to be singers, but still!
They were checking themselves out in the mirror while they sang/played. It was so cute. And so loud!
Have a great Thursday!
