Calvin and school

I have the rare opportunity to get into the kids' classrooms this year.  I informed Calvin's teacher I would be in there this friday and she said, "Great, you can make copies for me!"  Let me put it nicely and say that I was less than thrilled about that job.  I wanted to be IN the classroom.  I mean, my time surely could be better spent organizing my own cupboards at home, dusting, or even scrubbing the bathtubs.  Fortunately for me, I was able to get in the classroom and peek into my little guy's life at school.  Making copies took no time at all with the new high tech machines they have now.  I was quite enamored watching the copy machines work.

Not sure where I've left off with Calvin and school (that blogging hiatus seriously affected my blogging skills!  I just can't crank one out as fast or coherent as I used to), but let me just say that it has been a 180 since the beginning.  School has been the best thing for him and he just loves it.  After the monday of the 3rd week of school, he wakes up dressed and ready to go to school.  When he comes home, he goes to town making books, cutting, gluing, drawing, writing, reading, etc.  It is so, so, so cute and so satisfying to see him grow and thrive.

Today, they did 5th grade big buddies.  Listening to the 5th graders ask him questions and help him write, as well as Calvin opening up to them was such a treat to get to watch.

His latest book, based on the cover of his new Ninjago book he begged to get from the Book Fair.  SCHOLASTIC.  lol!

Happy friday!
