Joel's Cars party
We had a big party for Joel over the weekend. My sister made these for me. She also made the keys for a game activity down below. So impressive!
If my table was finally set and beautiful, I would have taken a picture of it, but that never happened, so you get half. :) I sort of felt like I was running around like a mad lady trying to do everything. I mean, the drinks were flowing, the food was yummy, but for goodness sake I didn't even have time to cut up cheese or avocado for the burgers. Oh well! It's not like we didn't already coach two soccer games earlier in the day. :)
One of the things I was trying to get done was print these driver's licenses for the kids so they could fill them out. FUN idea, but had I thought about it, only about 4 of them could fill out all of the blanks. Silly me! So I was trying to fill them out and finally asked some moms to help me.
Had my lecture face on explaining the game to them. They were supposed to find the correct key that matched the one under Lightning McQueen to win the Piston Cup. Only one key fit.
Look at Joel's face. Always smiling!
Had I thought this one out, I would have not had them looking through our unkempt garden beds. Our garden has been a waste of precious water this year. We've gotten some stuff, but not really worth all of the time watering let alone water we used during this drought.
Which key fits?!?!
And because there was only one winner (of the "real" trophy piston cup) and that is just mean to do at a birthday party to kids, I made piston cups for all.
So funny, he kept asking questions like: Is it monday? When is it my birthday? After we sing Happy Birthday, am I gonna be 4? Am I supposed to sing Happy Birthday?
After he ate his cake he came up to me and asked if he was 4, and I couldn't say no. So adorable!
As always, now I'm in recover mode! Not to mention it was 95 degrees that day and I was so gross and sticky, the second everyone left I hopped in the shower. Till next time!
