Welcome baby

Baby Layla is here!!

Woke up to a confirmation saturday morning to what I already knew, my sister was officially in labor.  We were able to book a flight using a crazy small amount of miles, and I was informed Uber was coming in 7 minutes.  I had all of 20 minutes to pack and grab some breakfast so I could see this sweet thing arrive into this world.  I didn't even tell my sister, she ended up calling me in transit to the airport and I told her what I was doing.  As I sat on the plane and finished all the calls and emails I needed to make with such a sudden change in plans, I was shaking with excitement.  I texted some girlfriends because I was so excited I had to tell people!  Of all of the details that had to be worked out (and there were many), the only thing to say is that God was in it all.

Long saturday and what a sweet reward!

Ended up eating an apple and a twizzler for dinner saturday night after she was born, so needless to say when I woke up sunday I needed to get food asap!  Thank goodness for my favorite store ever, coming through with the kombucha blast smoothie with an added boost of spinach to help me feel like a normal person again.

Had I even 10 more minutes, I probably would have checked the weather before packing.  :)

I was back and forth from the hospital all weekend.  Going home to eat, sleep, and cook some real food for my sister so she would eat.  And then of course a little bit of stopping in at some of my fave places for a little shopping.  Green onions at Met Market!

Monday morning went to grab some birthday poke for my sister in lieu of cupcakes.  Happy 30th birthday to her!!

I know the feeling.

My dad came in from Cali early and so he got to see her monday morning before he went down to Portland to see his dad.

Said bye to her, but I'll be back in just over two weeks!  So it wasn't too hard to say bye.

I ended up having a quick layover in Portland so I was able to say hi to my grandparents.  My dad dropped me off at SeaTac and straight from there drove to pick me up at PDX.  Had we a little more time to think about it, I would have never booked the flight from Seattle.  And unfortunately, I couldn't skip the first part of the flight.  :(  But it was perfect timing and I was so happy to have dinner with my grandparents.

I was cracking up listening to my dad help my grandma type an email on the iPad.  She is such a good sport!

Amazing trip and my heart is so so so full.  And now back to reality and wowza it is a wake up call!  But it is so good to see my husband and kiddos who missed me a bunch.  Oh man, was facetiming with Ava and she just burst into tears.  Broke my heart!
