GracePaks
Yesterday, my kids and I dropped off 47 GracePaks to a woman who is part of the organization called 3 Strands Global. They work with organizations that fight human trafficking.
It has been on my heart to not only proclaim my faith and claim it for myself. But to act on it by claiming it for others too. I asked our mom's group from church to do this. We assembled GracePaks for 47 women who will be taken out of or are at risk of human trafficking. We got our church involved by asking for donations throughout the month of November and they gave big.
With the Super Bowl coming here next year, the human trafficking industry ramps up. All of these backpacks will go to the Super Bowl Coaltion Against Trafficking.
Each GracePak contained a pair of pajamas, a stuffed animal, a journal, and other toiletries as many have nothing but the clothes on their back when they are rescued. The list of things for the packs is on their website.
I have been moved ever since reading a book called Interrupted by Jen Hatmaker (who I am going to go hear in October!!!!!).
From the book:
"We have the privilege of serving Jesus Himself every time we feed a hungry belly, each moment we give dignity to someone who has none left, when we acknowledge the value of a convict because he is a human being, when we share our extreme excess with those who have nothing, when we love the forsaken and remember the forgotten. Jesus is there."
