Simplicity

Joel is home with me right now.  I grabbed him from school because his tummy hurt.  Which is a guarantee that he has to go #2 and/or he hasn't been eating enough fruits/veggies.  If you know my kids, you know they are all fruit fiends!  Except Joel, he likes only a small handful of fruits and veggies.  Apples, watermelon, broccoli, carrots, cucumbers, and that is about it.  Peaches, ALL of the berries, grapes, oranges, kiwis, you name it he won't eat it.  He has always been one to not want to try new things.  I did have to start feeding him solids with a syringe to get it through his tight lips!  Today, we start swim team and it is possible his stomach is in knots for that.  Whatever it is, I make him drink a little smoothie everyday and I just don't tell him what is in it.  He wholeheartedly believes the green ones are green because of avocados and technically there is avocado in it, but that's not what is making them green.  I hate lying to him, but geez!!!

Besides the fiber fiasco, he is really an easy going boy.  Play, eat, sleep, repeat.  He has recently taken apart and rebuilt his red dragon lego set 20+ times.  I'm not even joking.  He puts it together, plays with it and contorts in it every which way and then says he's going to take it back apart and build it again.  This past sunday, we came home from church and he asked if he could go take a nap.  I told him yes, of course, and I found him later, door open, light on and dead asleep to the rest of the noise in the house.  It is so fun to have this happy go lucky boy around.

This was from his open house at school last week.  He wants to be a policeman and there he is naked, putting on his uniform.  He also has his police dog riding in the car, waiting for him.  Haha.  This is perfectly Joel.

He has been LOVING T-ball.  Which he says is no longer T-ball because he gets pitched to.  Get it right, Mom!  His coach is really good at coaching and teaching him technique. Everytime he makes an adjustment Joel gets a great hit.  Joel seems to have a great eye.  However, he has been telling me lately he has bad eyesight.  He just might, but it cracks me up how he says it, "My eyes are bad, I have bad eyesight."

Watching him is so fun.  And SO funny!!  I hope this video plays for you!  He hit the ball and they are only supposed to go to first base, but for some reason he thought he was the "homerun hitter" which is the last batter of the inning who gets to round all of the bases after they hit.  His coach is awesome and just says something like, "good job, now go back to first."  This past week when Joel was on 2nd going to 3rd, he fielded a ball that was hit right to him and then when he stood up to throw he realized  his teammates weren't around to throw to.  I don't even know what happened next because I had my head down laughing too hard!  But he eventually ended up at 3rd where he was supposed to.
