Spring break beach day

We were on spring break this week and my dad came down to help with Hannah after her tonsillectomy and hang out with the kids while they were out of school.  We got a sweet date night in and we also got to work out together every morning!  It was glorious.

Hannah is doing pretty well.  We/she might have pushed it a little too soon (we/she CAN'T help it!!) with trying different food and going out and about, so she is waking up in the middle of the night with some pain.  On the good nights she takes it and we all go back to sleep right away.  Some nights it has taken a little longer.  The trickiest part for me is that she was eating a lot of mac n cheese (we made a full batch 3 times last week!) and other dairy heavy foods and now she is all congested.  Which makes her need to cough and bothers her throat and I can't administer my concoctions that I normally would to help clear it all out (lemon is NO good for her poor throat)!  And we've had a harder time finding soft foods (that she will eat) that have no dairy.  Otherwise, we are doing great!

Back to the beach.  We have had crappy spring break weather.  Monday looked like our best bet and so we planned a beach trip with some other friends who also had spring break this week.  It was a great day to go!  Way better weather than we expected.  It did eventually get windy which always makes it chilly, but we were prepared for that!

"Whyyyy, do I have to look at you?  I can't, I'm busy flying a kite!"

   Checking out the tide pools!

Digging in the sand, running from the waves, flying kits, football on the beach, exploring tide pools, that is what spring breaks should be made of!
