Blogiversary
This past weekend surpassed the one year mark for my blog. Wow, I can hardly believe that it was a year ago. I thought about starting a blog for a couple of months before I finally wrote my first post. I let it sit as a draft overnight and after analyzing it ten times, I finally published it. I was so nervous. I then wrote a few posts before I even told a single person that I started a blog. I am such a dork. That included my husband who has been my #1 blog follower. :) 245 posts, a handful of faithful readers, and 1 year later, I am hooked. Besides this wonderful time of letting my brain regroup and relax during nap time, blogging has been just a really fun part of my day. I feel more connected to my readers in some transcendent way. So thank you for reading, I am so glad you are here with me.
I decided I was going to celebrate my one year of blogging. I did a little happy dance which oddly looked extremely similar to me sleeping on the couch. Haha. I think I did my happy dance for about 2 hours on Saturday during nap time. This gave me enough energy to stay up til midnight carving stamps, the real celebration.
My original intention of the blog was for me to share my crafting stuff, maybe a little cooking, as well as the kids and our adventures. Well, that dramatically changed when we picked ourselves up and moved to California. This blog has been a great way for friends and family to be a part of our daily lives, for which I am very thankful. That being said, one year of blogging was cause for me to change up the scenery around here, break open a bottle of champagne a fresh block of carving rubber and get my craft on.
Inspired by the Little Golden Books, I carved some little creatures. How cute would these be stamped on kraft paper and used to wrap birthday or baby shower gifts?
Inspired by my LOOOOVE of Rifle Paper Co. I carved out a floral burst. I have been surrounding myself with Rifle's designs because they are just so lovely. You can find a good deal of their stuff at Paper Source and sometimes Anthropologie too. However, if you look online for their stuff using a search engine, make sure you type in "Paper Co." too or else your side bar ads will think you are shopping for a gun. Those ads are so annoying!
I believe there is always a reason to celebrate. Cheers, to one year of Sunshine on a Cloudy Day! Thanks again for reading along!
Happy Blogiversary!
