Oatmeal sandwich bread

  Last week the boys and I made bread.  I usually let the stand mixer do all of the kneading work (cleaner and faster!), but I was feeling ambitious and let the boys go for it.




  We used this recipe.  She mentions not using whole wheat flour, but we substituted white whole wheat for 1/2 of the flour anyway.  Have you ever tried white whole wheat flour?  It is a game-changer when it comes to using whole wheat in baked goods.

It was super good, especially when it was still warm from the oven.
 
We got Hannah's bright-eyed nod of approval.
 
I give it 5 stars for being really simple and really yummy too.

  1. Love the hands on participation. My nephew was visiting this weekend - it takes more time when they help but it's a lot more fun. :)
