Husky weekend

We were all purple and gold this weekend as we hosted two couples and met another in Berkeley for the UW v. Cal football game this past Saturday.  Not only were we without the kids, we were with some of our most favorite people!!

Our friends, Luke and Maggie, flew in Friday afternoon.  Which also happens to be exactly one year since Maggie flew down to help us unpack boxes our first weekend here.  When they got into town, we caught up on life and Maggie taught Hannah how to make fortune tellers.  At which point, Hannah decided to make 10 of them.

I had texted Maggie earlier in the week about what she wanted for dinner Friday night and not a couple minutes later did she reply chilaquiles.  It was a done deal and so yum!  We make breakfast chilaquiles and should definitely post the recipe sometime because it is a winner.

After we put the kids to bed it was craft time before our other friends arrived.  Since this is the second time we've crafted over Moscow mules, it is basically a tradition.  Cheers!

Saturday morning we all headed out to Hannah's soccer game.

By 1:00 we had gotten into Berkeley and stopped into this store I had been dying to go into. It was cute, but wasn't really what I was expecting.  However, since I made it such a big deal beforehand, we caused some serious commotion outside the store right before we entered, which prompted a bystander to ask us if we wanted a picture out front.

After lunch and finding parking (an event all it's own), we finally were headed to the game.

Our seats put us right in the sun, but fortunately it was in the low 80s which was warm, but not miserable.  Had I known we would be watching the Huskies and blue angels at the same time I would have considered bringing the big camera.  Fleet week was happening in San Fran and we could see some of it from our seats.  We watched them fly away all together and Mike about had a heart attack at the mere thought of them turning and flying over the stadium.

At half, we moved to one of the ends for a shady spot.  The stadium (and school) is built on a hill, some people get a free show by watching the game from the hill above the stadium.  Where we went put us on the non-hillside of the bowl and you could peek over the edge and see out onto campus.

The Huskies had a great game and it was fun to watch with these friends.

And since we can't look perfect all of the time....  lol!

Go Dawgs!!

They all left sunday morning which gave us time to regroup and lay low.  The kids loved having everyone over, playing with them and wrestling with them.  We loved seeing friends and catching up too.  Of course, I am exhausted from staying up late and all of the fun, but I would do it all over again the next time the Huskies come into town!

Have a great Monday!
