Moreland Woods Pumpkin Patch
Calvin's preschool class visited the pumpkin patch yesterday. When I think pumpkin patch, I think corn mazes and farm acreage on a large scale, and the pumpkins in fact grow where we pick them. Down here, they do these little side of the road get-ups where they line hay bales up and stack pumpkins on them. It's pretty pathetic. You certainly can go to a farm and "real" pumpkin patch, but you have to drive some distance. When I saw on the map how close this one was, I was skeptical. Although the pumpkins did not grow at this particular place, it was way better than the side of the road patches I've seen. Mostly because there was a large space for them to set-up a lot. Unfortunately, Ava was a bit grumpy from not being able to take a morning nap which prevented a happy pumpkin patch picture.
Notice Calvin praying before snack. He goes to a Christian preschool and he is learning so much. They sing a prayer before snack and Calvin is the only one with hands clasped and head bowed.
A guide led the class through the "Happy" Halloween trail vs. the haunted one. Calvin was so excited I was going to be with him the WHOLE day at preschool. Before we went, he kept asking, "Are you going to leave me?" and I had to keep assuring him that I would not. So, while we were at the pumpkin patch, when the teacher would lead him somewhere, he would always look back to make sure I was coming too. It was really, really sweet. Joel on the other hand was happy to go and not look back.
I tried, but she wasn't going for it. Which is so unlike her!! She actually is starting to drop morning naps, but we were out late the night before so that plus a missed morning nap was no bueno!
What a fun time at the pumpkin patch!
