Dining room table

That moment when the only safe place in the house is no longer.  That happened a month or two ago.  And this has happened all day every day since.

Do you realize all that we used to be able to do up here?  We used to paint and do legos and make beaded jewelry and leave our unfinished breakfast up here.  We could even leave the napkin basket up here.

Not any more.

Well, you can, but you see...

and...

...and if you try to take her down, this happens.

If I can occupy her long enough or keep a tight watch on her quick little fingers, he can build.

Sometimes it's her buckling herself into her chair over and over and other times she'll be entertained by play-doh or this wonderful water painting book.

He LOVES the water painting book too.  I love them.  Whoever thought of these needs a raise.  These kids are the most gracious with Ava, until she messes up one of their creations.  I'm pretty sure she does it for their reactions, because the reactions are worthy.  I'm sure mine are too.  Why is it that the minute you mop, she gets into the smoothie left on the table and it's ALL over the ground?!?!

She is a doll.  I mean look at her!  But she is some serious work for me right now too.  Someone once gave me a great compliment by saying, "I don't know how you get anything done."  It gave me perspective.  It's okay for me to not get a gazillion things done, be happy for the thing (singular) that I can get done.  Even if it is immediately undone.

Have a great day!
