This is the life

If I ever needed a day to redeem the past few plus, today was it.  Granted, the day is only half over, but I'll take what I can get!

Hanging in our backyard, no cares, no fights (except for the water variety), no crying, just soaking in the not too hot sun and enjoying each other's company.  As I was sitting on our porch swing taking it all in, I thought what one could only think, "this is the life."  While I feel very fulfilled (in an odd way) in taking care of my children when they are sick and needy, I also feel very fulfilled when I can just enjoy them, their activity, and they can do the same.  When I said I wanted kids when I was younger (like teenage/college age), this is exactly what I imagined.  Some chores, some feeding, lots of smiles, and lots of fun.

She just got a kick out of squirting herself.  And I definitely got wet taking these photos.

 "We the car wash, Mom."

If you have ever wondered what my view looks like for most of the day.  This.  Her.  In my arms and therefore my face.  All day.

Then we started playing with the timer on my phone.

Until someone got hurt. Whoops, I sat down and squished her I think.  :)  At this point, it was 1:25 and time for naps.

It is days like these, when the time passes quickly because you are enjoying yourself so much.  When the kids play together because there is nothing to fight over when you're outside.  When you are reminded how much you love your job.

And you're reminded that you wouldn't miss these moments (or even the sick moments) for the world.
