First pick

Our strawberries are beginning to ripen now for what I hope will be a long and productive season.

I let Ava go to town on the 6 or so strawberries that were ripe in hopes of some great pictures.

She does not disappoint!

We planted these strawberries last year and they have most definitely doubled.  I love that!  Our garden is mostly planted and we're seeing fruit and harvesting some greens.

This precious girl sadly is in no condition to even enjoy strawberries at the moment.  She is sick sick and I'm taking her in after her nap.  I have two free hands to get some stuff done right now, but when she is awake, she is crying if she is not in my arms.  I had some plans to get some things done today after running no errands last week, but they will wait another day.  Hopefully only one.

On another note, the idea of pictures of Ava eating strawberries came because I remembered pictures of Hannah doing the same and I thought it was in that same purple stripe tank Ava has on.

After some research, it was not the same shirt.  But Ava does wear that rainbow shirt.  Ava is 20 months right now and Hannah here is over 2.5 years old.  She also is wearing her first cast which was just put on the morning of this picture from the time she fell off our step stool on Father's Day.

Upon further research, here is that tank top and Hannah is devouring a grape tomato from our amazing harvest that summer.  This is later in the summer and Hannah has her cast off.

And don't forget that cute little wide-eyed Calvin that is just chillin' next to her.  I can't even stand how fast the time goes.

Happy gardening!!
