Easter weekend 2015
Our Easter weekend in chronological order.
Egg hunt at a birthday party in San Mateo.
She was so proud she found an egg. Right there.
Should have bribed them with an egg treat after a picture. Rookie mistake. I still make those.
Easter egg coloring
Must keep this one buckled in.
Like last year, we went for the homemade natural dye variety again and made do with what I had on hand.
red cabbage-light purple/blue
blueberries- purple
strawberries-light pink
turmeric-yellow
paprika-orange
I also wanted green (and I didn't have extra spinach) and a website said to mix blue and yellow. Duh. But I thought for sure it would not work. I mean look at the color of the dye. But check out that green egg to it's left, it worked! The green eggs were my favorite by far!
Egg hunt at church.
One egg hunt per Easter for this little girl it appears. She lost some serious egg-finding steam.
We had a couple of families and our SCU friends over for brunch after church. Ava was wiped from the morning. I always get a quick cuddle like this after our drive home from church.
Resurrection roll making.
And this year I made sure to bake them a bit longer and the tombs were indeed empty. Phew. But poor Calvin was seriously upset/confused that his roll didn't have a marshmallow. :)
Hannah and I made little baskets for all of the kids, big and small.
The kids ate first.
There wasn't enough room at the table for my foo foo decorations, but I got some pics before we ate at least. :)
Backyard egg hunt.
Right after we finished the egg hunt and took this picture the promised rain began. Okay, who am I kidding, it was hardly a sprinkle. We need rain badly, but I'm kinda glad it held out for us yesterday so we could do the outside part of Easter, outside.
And we made it. You made it. It was a full weekend. We immediately plopped on the couch after our guests left and we cleaned up the remaining dishes.
Happy Easter!
I'm so glad the "storm" waited until after your egg hunt!
ReplyDeleteI was checking the weather yesterday afternoon and it was warmer here than in San Jose!... It was short lived.
Also, kewl soccer ball egg!!! Where did you get?
Probs Fred Meyer. I mean, where else in the PNW?
DeleteWe were pretty cold, but I'm not complaining. :)
