Portland | Summer 2015 Road Trip

We were in Portland from when we got in wednesday afternoon until sunday morning.  It seemed quick, but it was jam packed with a boat ride on the river, visiting Stumptown, going to the pool, my sister's baby shower, and a lot of eating good food and hanging out with our family.  Going to Portland was one of the highlights of my childhood.  My sister and I loved staying with our grandparents and visiting with our aunts, uncles, and cousins.  I am so glad that my kids have the same memories of Portland as me. I was so fortunate to have out of town family so close by and so involved in our lives.  Here are the pics from our time in Portland, both at the front and end of our trip.

My grandma has two very mature blueberry bushes.  They love where they are planted because they have been overflowing with blueberries since I can remember.

Out on the Willamette River.  My dad's childhood friend often takes us out on the water and this time the kids went on the inner tube and loved it.  While we were in Portland it was in the upper 90s and so the river was warm and the kids were jumping in.  It was perfect.

I wake boarded and had a blast too.  I was also soaking in the beautiful scenery.  I mean seriously, look at this place!

I love love love Stumptown.  I took a sip and my eyes rolled back into my head, the first of a couple of these moments on this trip.  (IMHO, Portland Stumptown > Seattle Stumptown.)

These kids LOOOOOOOVE their Uncle Randy and Auntie.  And oh my gosh, Ava, she must have thought my sister was me because she couldn't get enough!

Cort's baby shower

My cousin made this for my grandparents and I texted her right away to tell her that my sister and I want one asap.  How cute are they?!?!

Be careful, she's quick and sneaky!

He's such a good sport.  These two.

My kids have been talking about Portland for days.  Calvin went to bed cranky the other night telling me he wanted to stay with his cousins.  "I wished we lived in Portland" was said multiple times.  We love our PDX family!!
