Flower friday | Passion flower

  This beautiful vine is growing along the fence at our school and it is full of blooming passion flowers.  I was introduced to these in Seattle, but I assume they grow much better here!  They are a tropical plant and I am not sure about this particular vine, but these plants produce the passionfruit.  Our passionfruit vine did not have these beauties, but I am pretty thankful for the fruit!

   The passion flower is named after the symbolism of the theology of the passion of Jesus to the numbers of the different parts of the flower.

 Last week we were walking by and saw the largest bees that I have ever seen all over the blooms.

 I was inches away getting a shot of these that were probably 1.5 inches long from head to the stinger, not even exaggerating.   These iPhone cameras are legit!
