Pescadero Field Trip

Last thursday, I went with all of the 2nd grade classes up to Pescadero Beach for a field trip.

We visited 2 Mother's Days ago, but went to the first entrance to the beach.  This is the more southern entrance and the far better choice for scenery and other things to explore!

Looking for iron filings in the sand.

If you walk back towards land a bit there is this salt marsh.  We learned about the plants native to California and that this is a bird's resting place along their migratory path.  Not marine life, but still interesting enough.  ;)  There are some trails back here too that I hope to take the kids on sometime.

I still continue to be amazed at Northern California's coastline.  Driving along Hwy 1, taking in the scenery as the road takes you up and down, going around curves and seeing the cliffs and long beaches.  It is spectacular.  I want to travel many miles to see Italy and Thailand and so many other places, some travel many miles to see this.  I am grateful to get to explore this part of the world for sure!  Not to mention, in the name of school with Hannah and 3 other girls singing Blank Space as loud as they can on the car ride up.  As much as I feel like this school is. taking. over. my. life....this is the good stuff!

Happy Monday!
