Mother's Day | Pescadero

I had a wonderful Mother's Day and was treated to sleeping in until 7:45 and this royal breakfast.  Mike's homemade ricotta lightly sweetened and whipped up with cream cheese and fresh berries inside a crepe.  What a guy!

After breakfast, I took a shower while he got everything and everyone ready to head to the beach.  It was my day, so he went along with my everlasting need to find a new place and go on an adventure.  We wound through the hills and found ourselves in Pescadero.

We were not prepared for the 25 degree difference in temperature from home.  It was supposed to be 85 at home and I know it is colder at the beach, but I was not expecting it to be that much colder.  And it was sooo windy.

SO windy.  This picture is better with all of our smiles, but the wind was just too much for my hair.  :)

 We enjoyed ourselves anyway.

After the beach we headed into the small town of Pescadero and stopped at the Country Bakery.  Their big claim to fame is their artichoke garlic bread that I couldn't convince Mike to try.  There was a freshly baked batch that was being wheeled out to the shelves and people were just grabbing loaves from the cart like there was no tomorrow.  I wanted in on the hype!  We got a delicious loaf of garlic rosemary sourdough ourselves, as well as some of the yummiest cinnamon rolls I've eaten. I wasn't even hungry, but I couldn't help myself.  Ava couldn't resist either!  :) (She isn't even looking at Mike, she's eyeing the cinnamon roll.)

The other big attraction in Pescadero is Harley Goat Farm.  They now have 150 goats that came from the original 6 goats they started with.  You can do a tour and buy cheese, etc.  We enjoyed the baby goats and the beautiful garden on the property.  Right in and around Pescadero there are a lot of farms with cattle, I know we can buy a cow or portions of one from these farms.  We'll have to check them out when we run out of our beef.

We had so much fun and wore the kids and ourselves out!
What a perfect day!
