Beating the heat
I have about 10 minutes on the way to my swimming in the morning, and 16-22 minutes on the way home to get updated on the world around me. I am horrible at keeping up with current events! Mostly, I hear really bad DJs talking, but sometimes I hear something that is worth my while. Like two days ago, when I heard about 2 minutes of a Joe Dominguez lecture that I really wanted to keep listening to. Or this morning, when the really bad DJs told me today is supposed to be the hottest day of the year. What?! They must have meant the hottest day so far.
97 is hot, but surely there will be a few days that are hotter.
Regardless, we have been hanging at the pool every evening this week.
Calvin is becoming quite the swimmer. He just loves retrieving things from the bottom of the pool.
When Hannah is at swim team and I am swimming with the boys in the baby pool, Ava hangs out on deck. She is usually teething on some pool toy or pulling herself up on lounge chairs.
She only likes to do that for so long. :)
Then she gets to swim.
She LOOOOOVES it.
Joel is getting braver in the pool each day too, it is so fun to see his confidence soar.
The pool has been a life saver. 97 is really hot! Part of the reason I love the sun and heat is so that I can be outside enjoying it, not so that I have to stay inside and close all of my doors and turn on the AC. However, I do know a few families down here that do not have AC, so I am not going to whine about having to use the AC!! :)
We're off to the pool yet again.
Happy hump day!
