Memorial day weekend

As soon as they landed, we were off!  No rest for the sleep-deprived in this house.  We went to Happy Hollow Friday morning.

The kids were super excited to take Auntie and Uncle Randy on the roller coaster.

Saturday morning, we went on the train at Oak Meadow park in Los Gatos.

The ride is not a loop and therefore the engine uses this turntable each time it needs to take the next load of people.

It is manual.  How cool is this?

There is also this big jet for the kids to play on at the playground.

Sunday was more pool time.  The diving board opened and Calvin was so excited to go off.  It was his first time getting up there and jumping off by himself.

On Memorial Day, we went to Half Moon Bay.  It was super windy again!  We didn't bring sweatshirts again.  We are still novices at this beach thing.  Fortunately, we had a big umbrella that we put up that we could hide behind.

We ended their stay with an All-American Memorial Day feast.  There lies the last of our ground beef from the 1/8 of a cow we bought almost a year ago.  We still have other cuts that I need to figure out how to use.

We packed it in on this long weekend, but oh did it ever feel so short too!  We are looking forward to their return in a couple of months.

Hope you had a nice weekend!
