Keeping busy
We have had no shortage of activity here this week. Swim team and swim lessons, the beach, hiking in the open preserve and the redwood grove, the park, and making pizza and a pizookie for a swim team party... Goodness I'm so glad Mike gets home tonight!! More fun planned this weekend, but at least it will be with him!
Me: Do you need help with your goggles?
Ava: No, I got it.
Joel wanted me to make a pizza out of cookie dough (he saw someone do it on the food network) and I said, "maybe some day," while thinking "no way" inside of my head. And then we had a swim team pizza party last night and so making a pizookie was a no brainer. (I did not brown the butter and I did it in one 12" skillet instead of two 5" skillets.) It was yummy and he was VERY proud of HIS idea. Emphasis is his thing.
I keep thinking it's friday because it feels like one to me! My hubby gets home today, yayayay! This trip went by so fast. Starting out with that 10 day stretch, was the way to go. We did great, but it was very long. Makes 5 days seems so short. Funny how perspective changes. I will say this, and I have been telling everyone this, we knew all along that travel was a part of his new job. He LOVES his new job...the work, his coworkers, his boss...and so the day-to-day is light years better than his previous role. I am happy to have him travel some knowing how much better fit this job is. So while obviously I love it when he is home, I am embracing my new role with great joy. Not to mention, I get SO much done at night when he is gone, so a few nights is perfect for me to get caught up!
Happy Thursday!
