Los Gatos Farms | Lavender Part 1
We went to a little horse and lavender farm yesterday afternoon in the Los Gatos Hills on the way to Santa Cruz yesterday. Ever since the last time we went to a lavender farm, I have been wanting a lavender wreath. I called this place last year when I searched for local U-Cut lavender places and I was too late. However, the sweet lady who runs the farm emailed last week to say they were open for U-Cut this week. I sure wasn't going to miss out!!
There was plenty of lavender for the picking!
It is also an equestrian facility, with lots of horses to say hello to and a mini horse that the kids were looking at here.
The horses were so friendly!!!! Mike took the kids around while I cut lavender and he was telling me how friendly they were. All I could think was that the horses didn't mind being touched by the kids. No, these horses came to their windows when they heard us near and would try to escape their stalls to come see us.
Bert here would undulate his head up and down to get us to come see him. It was the funniest thing!
Hannah could not get enough. The others had smaller magnitudes of excitement and one in particular was completely uninterested/fearful for his life.
The sweet lady let me get 2 fat bundles, enough for a wreath!! I was very happy. She gave me a quick tutorial on how to do it and how I needed to get to work that night. Lucky for me, Prime Now had a wire wreath and delivered it to me before bedtime.
Time to get to work!! But I'll save some pics for another post. Let's just say, I was fighting against 3 things: the clipped floral wire ends, daylight, and my perfectionist self. Ugh. I will also say, that it ends well. :)
Happy thursday!!
