Seven

My bright eyed boy turned 7 over the weekend.  We were also out of town on a church retreat and so there was celebrating home and away.  One of the funnest things was waking up with friends and sharing chocolate chip pancakes!

We did a little party poolside with all of our friends.

 Fruit beach ball platter.

I saw cupcakes like these on this blog years ago and thought they were the CUTEST thing!  We had lemon cupcakes too and even with natural dye, blue frosting just didn't seem right for a lemon cupcake.  I also got the rings and teddy grahams at Whole Foods.  You might be able to see the beach blanket fruit leather cupcake in the back too.  SO adorable and all natural!

He landed okay despite what it looks like!

We played some pool games...

Sang happy birthday...

Opened some presents and called it a party!

Later that night we had to sing again because I forgot matches and he had to blow out some candles!

As we sat around the dinner table last night we all shared some kind words about him and/or encouraged him.  One of the best presents we could ever gift him, that and time being together.  His love language is words of encouragement and his eyes and spirits lit up as we each said something.  I remember when I could hardly let go of him being 3...

Happy 7th Birthday, Calvin!
